Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are used to help rejuvenate skin, whilst contouring and reshaping the face.

Dermal fillers are the ideal way to re-introduce volume into the skin which may be have been lost through ageing.

Fillers can be used to help support areas such as:

  • Lips
  • Naso-labial Lines
  • Cheeks
  • Tear Troughs

As we age our skin loses its elasticity and volume, resulting in thin and dehydrated skin.

This can contribute to deep wrinkle formation.

Dermal fillers are used to bring back that volume and create a more youthful appearance.

Who can and can’t receive them

The toxin used blocks nerve signals to muscles. As a result, injected muscles can’t contract (tense up).

This takes a few months for the muscle to go back to normal.

Anti-wrinkle injections are relatively safe. However they should be avoided if you are/have:

Those with a history of anaphylaxis, multiple severe allergies or a history of allergy to gram-positive bacterial proteins should not have the injections.

Dermal fillers cannot be given to people with an autoimmune disease.

The treatment site may feel a little tender for a few hours following treatment.

You may also experience some redness, swelling, and bruising.

It usually takes 2-3 days for the treated areas to settle.

Your rejuvenated appearance should be noticeable straight away and will last for around 9 – 12 months.
